Looks like the new album Meanderthal from Torche has leaked. Once again, no full album stream but at least there’s one track for you over there on the left hand side.
I can’t say that I’ve listened to this yet but I can just about guarantee it will be sweet for smoking some, um, herbal enhancers and kicking back on a comfortable sofa. Listen to the track Grenades in the box on your immediate left

In more “leaked” album news, it appears that the new and HIGHLY anticipated Portishead record has leaked to the great internets. While I won’t be posting the entire album for you to listen to I will at least post the lead single Machine Gun which you can listen to on the left hand side of this page.
Overall the album is very good but I haven’t had a chance to really allow it to sink in yet. It’s very dark and has a very ambient quality to it while the DJ aspects of Portishead seem to be conspicuously absent. Looks like you lovely netizens are probably listening to a pre-mastered copy that could change significantly before the final version arrives in April.
Also, if you like what you hear you can purchase the track in the Portishead Shoppe (extra “pe” because they’re brits) where you can also check out the deluxe and more-than-slightly Radiohead inspired box set. It includes a 2xLPversion of the full length, a print, a P-shaped USB stick with some videos, and a single sided single for Machine Gun with an etched b-side. It looks something like this:
I guess that’s really about all I could say about this. It’s a big day for Portishead fans who have been waiting a LONG time for this album to surface. HOORAY!

Well, it looks like Death Cab For Cutie has finally released a track from their upcoming album Narrow Stairs. It first went up on Amazon.com and then made its way across the internet like wildfire.
It’s got a droning feel to the first 4:30 which are entirely instrumental but the hook is pretty catchy once you finally get there. Granted, it’s not nearly as poppy as some of their previous singles (Soul Meets Body for example) but you will probably find yourself singing along within a couple of listens.
So here it is in it’s full glory. Click on the track to the left and give it a nice good listen. While this song is the upcoming single this is the album edit, 8 min+, while the single will be cut to just over 4 min long.

I feel that it’s time to set some things straight and start up some new conversations about the music scene. I’m not talking about downloads and industry shakeups but more along the line of the underground music scene.
I haven’t really decided what specifically to make this blog about but I have a feeling that it will encompass a lot of things. So stick around, keep checking back and I will eventually post something you care about.
Until I figure everything out I have a feeling that there will be a lot of reviews, rantings, and postings of rare, unreleased, and just plain great tracks in that little box you see on your left. Right now you can download a track called ‘Leather Wings’ by the band This Will Destroy You.
